Casino Volunteers Needed!

We now have the dates for our 2014 casino to be held at the Place Casino at West Edmonton Mall on Tuesday, February 18th and Wednesday, February 19th. We will need volunteers in all areas from cashiers to count-room to chip runners to bankers. Our casino can only be a success with the help of our volunteers, which will require approximately 25 each day with various shifts available. This casino is our main revenue source and helps keep our office open and our programs running. Please consider volunteering some of your time and help the Edmonton Chapter continue to be on the best in Canada. If you are willing to help please contact:

Self-management Workshop for Chronic Disease for Celiacs

Alberta Health Services has offered to hold a Self-management Workshop for Chronic Disease for Celiacs in March/April 2013 and we would like to know if our members are interested in attending this type of workshop.  Please consider the following information and let us know if this program would be of value to you by contacting our office at or 780-482-2708.

The program typically runs for 6 consecutive weeks with 2.5 hour long sessions each week. The workshops are led by two trained facilitators, one or both who have a chronic disease themselves. Each participant receives a textbook called “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” as well as a relaxation CD called “Time for Healing”. There is no cost to attend this program and we encourage a support person (friend, family member or caregiver) to attend as well.
