Celiac Awareness Month

May is Celiac Awareness Month! Each May, we combine our efforts with those of Canadian Celiac Association chapters coast to coast, as well as the national office, to educate Canadians about celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and the gluten free diet.

Throughout May, the Canadian Celiac Association Edmonton Chapter reaches out to the media (newspapers, radio, and television), conducts educational public displays, and generally talks about our cause. By raising the profile of celiac disease in Edmonton, and across Canada, we are able to reach people who haven’t been diagnosed as well as educate the public about gluten free eating and celiac disease.

This year, look for us at hospitals around Edmonton, where we will be spreading the message and raising awareness about celiac disease.

Volunteer with us! Our volunteers play an important role in our ability to reach individuals who are undiagnosed and suffering needlessly. You don’t have to make a huge time commitment; the more volunteers willing to help in some small way, the better our chances of helping people with celiac disease.

Please don’t wait to be asked! Call our Edmonton Chapter now to have your name put on our list of volunteers.
